About Yerevan

When you travel in Yerevan, get ready to be perplexed by its architecture and yet see yourself falling in love with the Pink City. Start exploring the city with a visit to Mother Armenia, then head to the Cascade, a giant stairway in the capital city with a panoramic view of central Yerevan and Mount Ararat. Take a shot of Soorj at a café and check out the Republic Square, famous for the dancing water fountains, before indulging in some shopping at Vernissage. We highly recommend you try the fusion food there to get a taste of the delicious Armenian Cuisine. Later, visit the Garni temple, the last Pagan temple dedicated to the God of Sun Mihr and the ruins of the Royal Palace nearby. Also, the UNESCO listed Geghard is not to be missed along with Azat Canyon which contains the Symphony of Stones. For a last soiree in the city, dinner at one of Yerevan's famous cafes and restaurants won’t disappoint. Armenia is a land of ancient mysticism, complex with cultural heritage and traditions. While some traditions date back thousands of years, they have evolved with time and are celebrated with splendour, even now. It was the first country to adopt Christianity as a state religion. Another fascinating aspect is the Armenian Cuisine, the most ancient cuisine in South Caucasus. It has a distinct smell and is closely related to Mediterranean and Eastern cuisine. For travellers, there is a multitude of options, from exploring the countryside, ziplining across Lastiver Gorge, skiing along the slopes of Tsakhkadzor and simply enjoying the weather at Lake Sevan - a calming antidote to the your bustling city life. Need some proper adrenaline rush? Go paragliding in Abovyan, Aparan or the magical Tsovagyugh (gorge of flowers).
