Off from the mainland Bali, Nusa Penida is the largest among the three Nusa Islands- Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. Each of the trios of islands has uniquely breath-taking landscapes and many amazing things that you must experience. As Nusa Penida is a relatively undeveloped island, you can’t find cosy cafes, beach clubs, and snazzy restaurants. But a visit to Nusa Penida is still worthy as you can get closer with nature and indulge in some of the most photogenic sights in Bali.

Getting there

A single day trip from Bali to Nusa Penida is very doable if you have only one day to spare. A morning boat ride from Sanur or Tanjong Benoa will get you to Nusa Penida, and you can come back in the afternoon. You can also reach the island by Public Ferry from Padang Bai. If you really want to enjoy and see Nusa Penida to the fullest, you would need at least 2-3 days.

Things to see

Once you have reached this gorgeous island, it’s time to explore! These are our top picks from the must-see places in Nusa Penida.

If you have the edge of adventure, then go for Snorkelling. Crystal Bay is so special for the very healthy and beautiful corals that are literally just meters away from the shore.

Attu Beach or Diamond Beach

This is one of the most famous beaches in Nusa Penida. Diamond beach on the other side of the island is an amazing beach, and it takes a bit of time to reach there from the harbour.

The dark spirit temple -Pura Dalem Ped

Nusa Penida is known to local Balinese as the black magic island. The dark spirit is kept at the bay and worshipped in this island, at this temple.

This is a pretty cool cave temple where you can experience the Balinese culture, while on the island. Climb up a few stairs to reach the temple, get blessed with water on your forehead, and then climb inside the cave.

Kelingking Beach

Beaches in Nusa Islands are unbelievably beautiful. Kelingking Beach is a relatively new beach and crowd’s favourite. This beach is the most Instagrammed spot on Nusa Penida
