Weekend in Georgia

On arrival at Tbilisi airport you will be met by our local representative in the arrival area outside the customs hall. Proceed to the coach for a 30 minute drive to the hotel for check in formalities. After checkin from the hotel then proceed for half day city tour.Tbilisi -One of the Oldest Cities in the World. Explore the capital of Georgia on a half-day sightseeing tour of the highlights of Tbilisi. See all the major attractions, such as the Narikala Fortress, Sioni Cathedral, Freedom Square and the Holy Trinity Cathedral.Continue to one of Tbilisi’s newest attractions, the Bridge of Peace, which opened in 2010 over the River Mtkvari (also known as the Kura River).

After breakfast, full day Kazbegi Tour. First monument along the way is Ananuri Castle and Church with amazing panorama view over Zhinvali Reservoir. After the fortress, the famous Cross Pass begins. Almost at the top of the pass (highest point is 2395 meters) the ski resort Gudauri is located. The next step is Kazbegi- (Stepantsminda), from where the Russian-Georgian border is only a few kilometers away. Explore jeep tour to Gergeti Temple (extra cost) which will be subject to weather condition. Evening return to the hotel.

After breakfast, proceed for full day tour to Djvari Monastery Complex, Svetickhovely Monasteri Complex, Mtskheta City, Uplistsikhe Caves.The Djvari Monastery stands on the rocky mountaintop at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the town of Mtskheta- the old capital of Georgia. This complex has been listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site. The architecture is a sight for the eyes and few clicks would capture the charm of the build. Another masterpiece, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral- known as the burial site of Christ's mantle, has long been one of the principal Georgian Orthodox churches and is among the most venerated places of worship in the region. Mtskheta city is one of the oldest towns and the cultural and religious centre of Georgia. Another mesmerising site is of the rock hewn town in Georgia- Uplistsikhe. Notable for the unique combination of various styles of rock-cut cultures, it is built on a high rocky left bank of the Mtkvari River and contains structures from Early Iron Age to the Late Middle Ages- beautiful! After a tiring and fruitful day of exploring, return back to the hotel, refresh and relax for the rest of the evening or take a stroll around on the streets and do not miss the chance to try out various local cuisines Evening return to the hotel.
